Workplace Safety Programs
Making Alberta a Safer Place to Live, Work and Play.
The Alberta Safety Council offers a variety of workplace safety courses which are designed to help reduce the risk of injury or death in the workplace. ATV Safety Programs teach riders how to safely operate an all-terrain vehicle, Bear Awareness courses provide information on how to avoid bear encounters, and Defensive Driving (DDC) and Professional Driver Improvement Course (PDIC) courses offer driving instruction that can help prevent accidents. Safety courses are not only offered by the Alberta Safety Council, but also by a variety of other organizations across the province. The Occupational Health and Safety Act requires employers to provide their workers with a safe and healthy work environment, and workplace safety courses are one way to help achieve this goal.
